Vegas-area hospital to expand physician training program
KVVU, 8/19/11 - University Medical Center's residency program will grow under provisions in the health care reform law, Sen. Harry Reid announced Friday.
Under the provision, Las Vegas' UMC will have 50 additional residency spots out of a 71 total designated for Nevada.
According to Sen. Reid's office, the provision was made to insure medical school grads will be trained in Nevada and would most likely practice medicine here, as well.
