Nevada attracts 300 customer service jobs
Reno Gazette-Journal, 10/20/2011 — APAC Customer Services Inc. will hire 300 Nevadans for its call center, the company and U.S. Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid, D-Nev., announced today.
The jobs are being transferred to the United States after being outsourced overseas. Nevada -- with the nation’s highest unemployment at 13.4 percent in August -- was chosen for its business friendly climate and a skilled workforce in customer service.
“With our state still struggling to recover, today’s announcement that 300 good-paying jobs are being shipped back into the state from overseas is very welcome news,” Reid said in a statement. “We must do everything we can to get Nevadans back on the job. I applaud APAC for their commitment to being part of that effort and creating jobs right here in Nevada at a time when we need them the most.”
