Boulder City’s veterans cemetery draws $3.5M grant

KVVU, 9/27/11 - A nearly $3.5 million grant is on its way to Boulder City to expand the Veterans Memorial Cemetery, the office of Sen. Harry Reid announced Monday.

According to Sen. Reid, the grant from the Department of Veterans Affairs will help develop 17 acres of additional land for 5,000 more burial plots.

"Each year I join Nevada families on Memorial Day in Boulder City to keep the memory of these brave men and women alive," Sen. Reid said in a statement Monday. "This important project will put Nevadans back to work while ensuring that Nevada veterans have an appropriate final resting place near their families."
