Volunteer Appreciation Luncheon Shows Excitement for Campaign
Over 500 people attended Senator Reid's Reno Volunteer Appreciation luncheon for his campaign this weekend. Volunteers are already hard at work pounding the pavement, hosting house parties and phone banking for Senator Reid's re-election efforts.
This was an extraordinary show of support and energy with the election more than 8 months away!
Assemblywoman Shelia Leslie kicked off the event by highlighting some of Reid’s accomplishments for Northern Nevada.
“We all know that Senator Reid delivers for Nevadans like no other elected official can,” Leslie said. “He has delivered on projects like TRACC which lead to the revitalization of downtown Reno and on future projects that will improve our community such as the expansion of the intersection at Virginia and McCarran near Meadowood Mall.”
Chip Evans, Washoe County Democratic Party Chair, explained the importance of getting involved to help re-elect Senator Reid.
“Republicans all across the country are targeting Senator Reid,” Evans said. “These national Republican groups don’t care that he has delivered more than $4.1 Billion in projects for in Nevada. They don’t even care about our state at all.”
A good time was had by all, with the volunteers getting to meet with and talk to Sen. Reid, as well as have their pictures taken.
Sen. Reid came away from the event energized by the level of enthusiasm and excitement about his campaign, and looks forward to hitting the trail in Reno again soon. To get involved in the campaign volunteer now.
