Nevada Young Professionals Meet & Greet w/ James Carville
“Hundreds of millions of dollars,” answered ‘Rajun Cajun’ James Carville. “That’s what Nevada loses by not reelecting Harry Reid this fall.” This in response to a question lobbied at him by one of the many Young Professionals for Harry Reid at a recent meet and greet held in Reno.
Carville was in Reno at the Silver Peak Restaurant and Brewery to answer questions from young professionals across Northern Nevada relating to Senator Harry Reid and his far-right opponent Sharron Angle. Carville, an internationally renowned political strategist and former host of CNN’s Crossfire was in Nevada to make the case for why Nevada needs Harry Reid now more than ever.
Carville noted Senator Reid’s long record of delivering for Nevada, such as securing funding for many job creating projects in Reno including the train trench project in downtown that has specifically benefited young professionals. Angle on the other hand holds “extreme and profoundly ignorant” positions, such as the fact that Angle actually believes the tragic BP spill in the gulf was caused by too much regulation, and the solution is to let BP do whatever it wants.
Carville also praised Sen. Reid for his efforts to diversify Nevada’s economy, such as the millions he delivered in the Recovery Act for renewable energy projects. Like Reid, Carville believes that the hard work of turning Nevada’s economy has to include renewable energy jobs. Sharron Angle not only wouldn’t have been able to deliver the money that Reid did, but according to her, wouldn’t have even made the effort. After all, Angle says as a U.S. Senator, “she wouldn’t be in the business of creating jobs.”
Carville forcefully made the argument for Harry Reid’s reelection at a very successful event with Young Professionals for Harry Reid.
