McCarran Airport to get millions in federal money for improvements

13 Action News, 7/14/11 - Las Vegas will be getting millions of dollars in federal money to fund continued rennovations at McCarran International Airport.

Nevada Senator Harry Reid announced Wednesday that the $10,489,054 will go twoard two projects that will improve airplane taxiways as well as the parking area for aircrafts while they load and unload passengers.

"Investment in the safety of Nevada's airports not only creates jobs, but boosts Nevada's overall economy by giving visitors the confidence to continue flying to the world's premier tourist destination," said Reid. "As our economy picks up steam, we must do everything we can to ensure travelers choose Las Vegas as their vacation or business destination. That begins by ensuring that our airports have everything they need to keep our visitors safe and secure."
