Cutting Taxes for Nevada’s Homeowners and Businesses
Recently we learned that 25,446 Nevadans have collected $186,224,568 in tax credits from the first-time homebuyer tax credit program in the last two years. I'm glad to see that this program, which I led to passage in the Senate, has been so successful in Nevada.
In addition to reducing the excess inventory of homes, it is helping to boost our state's economy by providing an incentive for people to buy a home. It is my hope that this program has provided the shot in the arm Nevada's housing market needs so it can continue to stabilize and start to recover.
To learn more, read the Reno Gazette Journal's review of the program.
It is also worth noting that taxes are at their lowest level in 60 years. Read the CBS News story for more details on the tax cuts I fought for and won in last year's Recovery Act.
There's much more work to do as we put our economy back on track, but I need your help. Please join my campaign by signing up at harryreid.com/taxcredit. I look forward to continuing this work with Nevada's business leaders and encourage you to contact me with your input.
