A simple choice
In every election, voters have a choice. Sometimes it's complicated. Sometimes it's simple.
This November, Nevada voters will have a very simple, very clear choice to make. You know where I stand: for creating Nevada jobs, for tax breaks for middle class families, for moving Nevada, and America, forward.
And by now, it's become clear where my opponent stands. She doesn't think creating jobs is a responsibility for a United States Senator. She wants to move backward.
On issue after issue, the choice is clear. You can help my campaign make our case to voters on the air and online about the choice in this election by clicking here and donating today.
Unemployment
I believe that Nevada families out of work should be able to count on a strong safety net, so that they can pay bills, buy groceries, and continue contributing to our local economies when they need it the most.
My opponent believes that struggling Nevadans should be on their own, even going so far as to call them 'spoiled.' That's just wrong, not to mention insensitive and insulting.
Energy
I believe that BP should pay for the damage it's done to our environment and our economy, and that we must harness the potential of clean energy technologies to create jobs here in Nevada and power our nation.
My opponent believes in letting BP off the hook, calling the money to repay victims of the spill a 'slush fund.' She also supports bringing nuclear waste to Yucca Mountain, and referred to solar, wind, and geothermal as "Designer" energy resources.
I'm not quite sure what she means by that, but I'm working to create jobs by making Nevada the leader in clean energy production - and we're making progress.
Campaign finance
I believe that elections should be about fairness and transparency; and listening to the people, not to big corporations. That's why I support the DISCLOSE Act, which would help to stem the tide of corporate influence resulting from the Citizens United decision.
My opponent, who was endorsed by Citizens United and whose candidacy is supported by millions of dollars in corporate money being used to run attack ads against me, supports allowing corporations and foreign countries to influence our elections.
The more we can drive our message on the internet and the airwaves in Nevada, the more momentum our campaign builds. You can help right now - click here donate and help us make our case!
These are simple, clear differences. And they make for a clear choice come Election Day. I know with your continued support, we'll win this race in November.
