Harry Reid understood that the issue was about jobs. Nevada jobs. Countless thousands of jobs that would otherwise be lost if interest payments to banks took precedence over paychecks to working Nevadans.

When push came to shove in Congress, that provision was dead, gone and buried. It had no chance of passage and with it would go countless thousands more Nevada jobs. Only one person could make it happen.

So Sen. Harry Reid of Nevada did what any other knowledgeable, experienced majority leader would do. He had his way with the legislation for the benefit of Nevada’s working men and women and Nevada’s employers. It was a home run.

I know it happened and how it happened because for some crazy reason I was in the middle of it while it happened. The credit — in the end — goes to Harry Reid and only Harry Reid.

So if you have a problem with Sen. Reid helping both business and labor at the same time — when no one else would or could — then go for it. Or, if you want to quibble over the relative importance of a job created, a job saved or a job protected, have at it. But first, you might want to check with a neighbor or a friend who is still working because of Harry’s courage and cunning.

And so continues the Las Vegas Review Journal's weekly biased attacks on Senator Harry Reid. For what ever reason, the RJ at every turn taken everything the Senator has been and is doing for the State of Nevada and spinning the truth to cast doubt on the Senator before this next election. It has become apparent the Las Vegas Review Journal has moved from news paper to a FOX like opinion presented news spin organization.

Rather than reporting the news and leaving the editorials to the editorial pages they are now portraying editorials as news.

This last attack has the Senator and his staff firing back with both barrels at the Las Vegas Review Journal for its outwardly biased news reporting.

After eight years of disastrous economic policies, Senator Reid and the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act are working to turn things around in Nevada, already saving and creating thousands of jobs throughout the state. Of course, while there are signs for optimism, there is still much work to be done. Thousands of families continue to struggle to make ends meet after the financial crisis left them without a job and badly cut into their savings.

That’s why Senator Reid has been pushing back against Republican obstructionism and stall tactics to pass legislation extending relief to jobless workers and jumpstarting the economy by assisting new homebuyers and small businesses.

Pahrump Valley Times, 11/05/09 - Kevin and Diane Allen invested $23,000 in 15 photovoltaic panels on the roof of their home in Mountain Falls, each capable of generating 200 watts, for a three kilowatt system. The inverter in the garage -- which converts the power from direct current to alternating current -- provides a readout of the wattage.

The Allens took advantage of a 30 percent tax credit, which reduced the cost to a little over $16,000. That legislation was passed in fall 2008. Previously the federal government only provided a tax credit of up to $2,000.

When Senator Reid calls and meets with his colleagues to convince them to support the bill he sent to the CBO Tuesday, including a public option, he wants to be able to tell them that it's not just him asking for their support - it's thousands of people from their state as well!
