REID IS COMMITTED TO ENDING HOMELESSNESS AMONGST AMERICAN VETERANS
After bravely risking their lives in service to their country, Senator Reid believes it is unacceptable that homelessness still exists amongst America’s veterans. In the Senate, Reid has taken the lead to push for and pass legislation that meets the needs of our homeless veterans, providing employment training and reintegration resources. This is crucial to helping these struggling heroes get back on their feet.
Throughout his career in public service, Senator Reid has secured hundreds of thousands of crucial funding to support homeless veterans. This year alone, Senator Reid helped secure a $170,000 grant from the Department of Labor to the United States Veterans Initiative in Las Vegas. Administered by the Assistant Secretary for Veterans’ Employment and Training and the Department of Labor, these funds will help enroll Nevada veterans in programs ranging from substance abuse and treatment to employment assistance and housing.
