Sharron “Paris Hilton” Angle Goes Into Total Meltdown-Shutdown Mode
Again refusing to come clean with voters about her extreme agenda, Angle melts down on camera and then bans Nevada press from covering her
LAS VEGAS – If you thought Sharron Angle couldn’t be anymore ridiculous in her efforts to avoid Nevada voters and the media, think again.
After taking a beating in the press for such preposterous tactics as using a decoy to trick waiting reporters while scrambling out a side door, and brazenly declaring she wouldn’t address media until after the election is over, Angle actually outdid herself yesterday.
Facing questions from Las Vegas CBS and NBC affiliates to whom she has repeatedly refused daily interview requests for weeks, Angle embarrassed herself on camera when asked about the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan. Asked by KLAS-TV’s Nathan Baca to explain her position to Nevadans on the wars, Angle offered this brilliant analysis, before rushing away:
“You know, the two wars that we’re in right now is exactly what we’re in.”
Seriously.
Then, just hours later, veteran Nevada political journalist Jon Ralston reported Angle’s campaign had reacted by banning all TV from the rest of her campaign events, from which they later backed down and are now only exacting retribution on the two local stations who (*gasp*) dared to ask her questions yesterday.
That’s right – despite wanting to represent the foreign policy interests of nearly 3 million Nevadans in the US Senate as our country fights wars on two fronts, Angle actually accused the media of treating her “like Paris Hilton” for asking very basic foreign policy questions she couldn’t answer.
“Even as she attempts to black out all access to Nevadans’ questions about her extreme agenda from the voters, Sharron Angle can’t help but demonstrate she is wholly unqualified to represent our state in the US Senate,” said Reid campaign spokesman Kelly Steele. “Sharron Angle’s extreme agenda to eliminate Social Security and Medicare, abolish the Department of Education, and dismantle the Veterans Administration by privatizing it is simply far too extreme for Nevadans to swallow, so at this point she and her handlers will do or say anything possible to cover it up.”
