Afternoon Must-Read: MGM Chief Blasts Angle’s Complete Ignorance on Economic Issues

Despite the best efforts of Sharron Angle’s new DC handlers to recreate a candidate that says it’s “not her job” as a US Senator to fight for Nevadans’ jobs, Nevadans of all political persuasions are increasingly rejecting her extreme and dangerous agenda.

Today, the CEO of the state’s largest private employer, MGM Resorts International, blasted Sharron Angle’s complete and utter ignorance on economic issues – arguing it renders her totally unqualified to represent Nevada in the US Senate. According to the Associated Press, MGM CEO Jim Murren offered the following:

“Murren said Tuesday that Angle's comment that the company's CityCenter development injured other businesses in Nevada was disappointing and perplexing. He questions how a U.S. Senate candidate could have such a "poor" understanding of business and economics.”

Indeed, Sharron Angle proudly argues that she would not have lifted a finger to save CityCenter, as Sen. Reid did, and instead would have allowed more than 22,000 Nevada jobs to simply go up in smoke before she’d pick up the phone and call banks on behalf of Nevada’s largest private employer – a position so extreme that Angle surrogate Danny Tarkanian was made to publicly rebuke it. In fact, Angle’s position is so out-of-touch that she was even publicly repudiated by top supporter Sen. John Ensign.

The attacks of Angle and her new DC handlers have already been debunked by economists at non-partisan news outlets, one of which suggested Angle’s attacks could only be leveled by someone who was an “economic illiterate.”

Mr. Murren is one in a long list of prominent Republicans backing Senator Reid, who aside from Reid’s long record of delivering for Nevada, are turned-off by Angle’s extreme and dangerous agenda for our state.
