Senator Reid has made job creation and relief for struggling small businesses one of his top focuses in Congress.
It’s why he stepped in to keep City Center on track, which is generating more than $700 million in business for over 200 minority-owned businesses. Thanks to Senator Reid, CityCenter is now open for business and employing 12,000 Nevadans.
Senator Reid passed a new Jobs Bill that is working to put Nevadans back to work by empowering small business owners to begin hiring again. The Las Vegas Chamber of Commerce said “this bill will encourage job growth by giving tax breaks to businesses that hire the unemployed…The Chamber appreciates the leadership of Senator Harry Reid and Republican and Democrat lawmakers working together in a bi-partisan manner to enact this bill that will help businesses put people back to work, as well as invest in our nation’s infrastructure.”
Nevada is also benefitting from Senator Reid’s commitment to creating new clean energy jobs by taking advantage of Nevada’s abundant natural resources like wind and solar. In fact, Senator Reid passed a crucial solar tax credit that will create 41,000 new Nevada jobs. He secured more than $300 million in Recovery Act funding for Nevada-based projects to create thousands of additional clean energy jobs.
